Please join us as we embark on a year-long process to create cross-cultural public art on the Eastrail.
Eastside For All and Eastrail Partners have received a Fund to Foster Belonging grant to co-create art along the multi-use Eastrail. This project will bring together immigrant and non-immigrant communities — and diverse cross-sections within each group — to support the following goals:
Celebrate a community art installment in Fall 2023
As we begin to envision together, the definition of “art,” is broad, including sculpture, painting, photography, music, dance, storytelling, theater, and more. We can’t wait to see what will come to the trail for everyone to enjoy!
If you’re interested in being a part of this collaborative work, we’re inviting community members who may identify as trail users, advocates, immigrants, BIPOC community members, and artists to participate in a series of virtual and in-person gatherings on the Eastside starting a little later this spring and through the summer.
No special skills or background are required. We encourage everyone to bring their perspectives, listen with empathy, and support each other in centering the voices and experiences of communities who are least represented in public art processes, investments, and decision-making. Together we’ll explore the possibilities that come from meaningful connections and shared visions.
