With summer sun shining, new connections opening, and new users discovering the Eastrail every day, we’re excited to highlight a series of events happening this summer all along the corridor!
Bike to the Bridge!
On July 8, our partners at the City of Kirkland are cutting the ribbon on the new Totem Lake Connector, completing an important connection on the Cross-Kirkland Corridor. Eastrail Partners invites the community to join us on one of two 5-mile, casual bike rides from either the South or North end of the trail to the “Bridging Kirkland’ celebration. Meet at one of two points for the bike ride:
– 2pm at Wilmot Gateway Park in Woodinville. Join a group ride down the Sammamish River Trail to 145th, where we’ll take the newest Eastrail segment up the hill into Totem Lake.
– 2pm at South Kirkland Park & Ride. Join a group ride through the heart of the Cross-Kirkland Corridor, ending at the Totem Lake celebration.
RSVP for the ride by emailing [email protected]
Eastrail Ale Launch
Our friends at Chainline have been busy brewing the “Eastrail Ale,” and we’ll be throwing a party at Chainline Station on July 13 from 5:30-7:30pm to celebrate the release. A portion of all proceeds go directly towards supporting Eastrail Partners and our mission to make the Eastrail for Everyone, Every Day. Come raise a glass to our trail and support our work!
Summer Concerts on Eastrail
With support from SRM Development, we are hosting an event series at Feriton Spur Park Amphitheater, right along the Eastrail in Kirkland. Wednesday evenings in July, join us for eclectic schedule of performances. Concerts are open to the public, free, and family friendly! Check out the flier for more details:
Storybook Theatre at Feriton Spur Amphitheater
Sunday, August 5, our partners at Studio East will be kicking off their storybook theater series for the first time at Feriton Spur Park. Bring the family for 2 performances of Rapunzel at 11am and 1pm on the lawn at Feriton Spur. While you’re there, cool down in the Spray Pad, enjoy a game of Pickelball, walk through the community garden, and enjoy a refreshment at nearby Chainline Station. Check out the Studio East website for more details.
More openings this Fall!
Trail users in Bellevue may have noticed the construction currently underway at Northup Way, where a direct connection between Eastrail and the 520 Trail Corridor is currently under construction. Keep an eye on our social media for more details about an opening celebration in early September.
