Bike Everywhere Day

May is an exciting time on the Eastrail. The weather starts giving us more sunny and warm days, and people start dusting off their bikes. Eastrail Partners was excited to host two Celebration Stations on Bike Everywhere Day thanks to our sponsor Symetra.

To kick off the morning, we were out at Feriton Spur Park with the City of Kirkland. We spent time enjoying donuts, passing out stickers, sharing trail updates, and educating people about the connectivity of Eastrail.

To end the day, we were back out on the trail, down near VMAC, with the City of Renton. People in Renton love the trail and showed much excitement for the upcoming Sound Transit Stride Stations coming to New Castle.

We live for building community, sharing information, and helping promote how trail and
transit meet.

A huge thank you to our sponsor Symetra. Through their support, we were able to provide stickers, snacks, and other goodies to every person who visited our booths throughout the day.

Biking Tour with The Urbanist

The Urbanist, City of Kirkland, and Eastrail Partners hosted a free bike tour of the Cross Kirkland Corridor of Eastrail. We focused on looking at Transit and Trail oriented design.

We spent the morning biking from the South Kirkland Park & Ride over to Totem Lake. We learned about how the city has been making changes to zoning around the trail in order to increase usability and create density surrounding the trail. We spent time looking at Feriton Spur Park and how that came to life through a public/private partnership, which is one of the key components of the work Eastrail Partners does.

Overall, it was great day on the trail with The Urbanist and fellow community members.
