Just in time for the darkest month of the year, several Eastrail communities are bringing bright, festive lights to the trail and adjacent parks. This December is great time to put on some layers, light up your ride, and go check out these free public light displays!

Google Lights in Kirkland

With thousands of lights hanging directly over the trail, Feriton Spur Park is a chance to take in some festive lights while you walk, bike, or roll on the Cross Kirkland Corridor of Eastrail.

Join the official lighting celebration on December 6 from 5-7pm, with caroling, a free petting zoo, and photo booth. Or, come by anytime through the rest of December to enjoy. You can always stop by Chainline Station for a refreshment!

Clam Lights in Renton

Just South of the Eastrail in Gene Coulon Park, Renton’s “Clam Lights” will bring brightness to the Lake Washington waterfront. Go for a walk or jog alongside Ivar’s famous walking clams!

The opening celebration is also December 6, featuring a visit from Santa and a viewpoint for the Christmas Ships, which will pass by the shore from 7:45-8:40pm!

Redmond Lights

Further East, you can bike, walk, or roll along Redmond Central Connector of Eastrail to Downtown Park beginning December 7 to view an elaborate light setup, temporary art installations, and more.

Stop by on Saturday, December 7 for a packed lineup of music, snow, arts, and more throughout the evening.

Stay Warm and Light your Ride

No matter how you celebrate this December, or how you get around on Eastrail, it’s a great time to get outside and enjoy some fresh air. With dark coming earlier this time of year, don’t forget your lights.
