Ballots for the August 5 election are being mailed next week—and they include the renewal of the King County Parks Levy (King County Prop 1), which funds 85% of King County Parks’ maintenance and operations.

A YES vote on King County Proposition 1 is a vote to continue building the Eastrail and our regional trail network!

Renewing the levy for another six years (2026–2031) will secure $65 million in funding specifically for King County Eastrail projects, and $182M overall funding for regional trails. Thanks to the current Parks Levy, we’re already enjoying key Eastrail segments like the NE 8th Street Bridge and the Woodinville trail segment (pictured below).

The renewed levy will support: More than 185 miles of regional trails (including Eastrail), over 215 miles of backcountry trails, 32,000+ acres of open space, and 250 parks across King County.

This is an investment in the trails and parks that connect us—to nature, to our communities, and to each other. Let’s keep the momentum going. Vote YES on Prop 1.
