As 2025 comes to a close, we’re grateful for the incredible community that helps make the Eastrail such a special place. From new trail connections to public art, performances, and major progress toward a completed corridor, it’s been a big year!
As we share this snapshot of 2025 on the Eastrail, we also want to acknowledge the many in our region are facing significant hardships due to recent flooding, and that numerous regional trails have been impacted and will require repairs. Our thoughts are with the communities navigating recovery, and we’re committed to working alongside our partners to help restore and strengthen our regional trail system.

In May, Sound Transit connected the 2 Line from Bellevue to Downtown Redmond, bringing new stations—and great trail connections—online. Eastrail Partners was proud to co-sponsor the opening celebration and welcome trail users from across the region to Redmond.
By September, Redmond completed its final section of the Redmond Central Connector (RCC), creating a continuous Eastrail connection through Woodinville, Kirkland, and Redmond and opening up more ways to bike, walk, and roll across the Eastside.

In Bellevue, we celebrated Nikita Ares’ Wilburton Mural with an Eastrail Art Walk, bringing artists from across the corridor together to share their work, explore local history, and imagine future art projects in the BelRed Arts District.
In Kirkland, we returned to Feriton Spur Park for our third year of performances, featuring everything from classic rock to traditional Indian dance—right on the trail.

Beyond events, we continued building partnerships and advocating for trail funding across the corridor. With voters overwhelmingly approving the King County Parks Levy in August, we’re excited to advance projects in Bellevue, improve connections in Renton, and continue expanding north into Woodinville and Snohomish County.
Your support makes this work possible. If you’d like to help us build community along the trail and advocate for its completion, consider donating to support our mission to make the Eastrail for everyone, every day.
